Small Home in Japanese Seclusion

"Great to know.." Selia grumbled, looking a little nervous to be around a bonkers person. Of course, she was just kidding.

Jake laughed. He put his arm around her shoulders. "Besides, if I were crazy like my grandpa, you wouldn't be alive." he said creepily.

"Now that's creepy. Your grandpa kills people?!" Selia said, laughing.

"No, but the people usually disappear- or well, those who annoy him. Then they usually end up tied to a pole naked screaming about crocodiles or something."

Selia suddenly turned very pale. "Uh... remind me not to call your grandpa crazy anymore, okay..?" She asked quietly, losing her smile.

Jake stared at her. Then, he burst out laughing, and fell into the grass, laughing like mad. He had totally gotten her there.

Selia realized what had happened after he started laughing. "JAKE! That's not funny! I thought your grandpa was some sort of.. some sort of.. Mafia boss or something!"

Jake couldn't reply, he was busy holding his stomach and laughing really hard.

"It's not funny, I trust you, Jake, I actually believed that."

He kept laughing. He actually looked in pain from all the laughing, now.

To make him stop, before he killed himself, Selia pretended to be angry. "Jake, I'm never trusting you with anything again!"

He stopped laughing. "What?! Why? Can't you take a joke? Come on, Selia."

"It's fine, I just thought you were going to die laughing, so I had to make you stop, you know. I was just kidding."

"Hey, you got me!" Jake then gave her a noogie.

"W-what are you doing?!" Selia asked, dumbfounded. She had never gotten a noogie before.

Well, that noogie messed up her hair. "... Something friends do to each other."

Selia frowned, and tried to redo her hair. "Oh, alright, then."

"So." Jake fell back into the grass sighing.

"So." Selia replied. "Do you straighten your hair?" She asked, genuinely curious.

"Straighten?"

"Apparently not- but you take a flat iron, and make your hair straight with it."

"Flat iron- like, flat-flat iron? How does that work?"

"There's one in my bag. I could just show you on my hair."

"Oh, okay." Jake looked genuinely curious.

Selia went and got the straightening iron. "So, you plug it into a wall, then run it through your hair like this-" She demonstrated on her hair, the iron not plugged in. "And it gets all hot by then, and makes your hair straight."
