Defense Against the Dark Arts

Kelsi eyed Libby, and mouthed, 'Race You,'.

Libby got one of those little sparkles by her face like Alex Louis Armstrong would, and started writing down said lines.

As did Kelsi. As fast as possible without it being messy.

Kelsi dropped the quill and slapped her hand.

Libby did the same thing, scratching at her hand. It felt weird. It was tingling like it had fallen asleep, but it also hurt like someone had cut it. Libby studied her hand for a minute, wondering what caused that weird feeling. Then she saw "I will never be tardy to Defense Against the Dark Arts again" appearing on her hand. She turned her head to look at Kelsi.

Umbridge had put down her novel for a minute to watch this. She was grinning that hideous, toothy grin, and nodding slightly at them, for them to continue.

Kelsi turned her head to Libby.
"Heh, I think I'm developing allergies, 'u'" she said, breaking the intense dramatic moment.

She returned to writing the lines but suddenly the small itching tingling was getting worse. She eyed her hand nervously, and saw the reddish lines getting more defined. Kelsi bit her bottom lip.

Libby threw a nasty look at Umbridge, and refocused her attention to the paper. She didn't want any more detention than what she already had.

[brb going to wal-mart then going swimming. be back in an hour or so.]

[[Dinner.]]

The sting was getting worse and worse. But, Kelsi kept writing. Her eyes began stinging as she bit her lip harder and harder to keep from crying out.

After about ten minutes, Libby threw her quill down and rubbed her hand - the stinging was too much for her.

Kelsi began shooting more glances at her hand, as she kept writing. Soon enough, she set her quill down and stared at Professor Umbridge.

"Excuse me, Miss Cruise, I have not told you to stop yet,"

"This isn't what normal detention would be like," Kelsi had almost said angrily.

Her lips were a thin line and she was staring blankly at the teacher.
"Nothing," she spat quietly, and returned to the lines.

"Alright, dear," she said, taking a sip of her tea.

After a few moments she threw the quill down again.
"Honestly, how long is this going to take? I think that the message is nicely put in,"

Libby nodded in agreement.

"Well, let me see your hands,"

Libby held up her hand for Umbridge to see.

Kelsi stuck out her hand, also.

Serenity walked down a hallway towards Umbridge's Office place, intending to meet Kelsi and Libby after their detention to talk, since nobody else wanted to say anything to her. She had changed, Selia's hair had gotten all over her clothes, into dark jeans, high heel tan boots, a black oversized pearl like necklace that almost touched the beltline of her jeans, and a tanktop sleeve cut tan turtleneck sweater, not made out of thick material, but loose silky stuff. The hair had a straight bang, with its usual curls just falling in the back.
To tell the truth, the outfit was killing her. The neck of the shirt was too tight, and the heels on the boots were so high, Serenity kept tripping.
But, other than that, she was in a good mood. Stopping at the door, Serenity waited, grinning.

"Alright, you two, you may go now. I think the message has sunk in alright. But, be warned. The message will be sunk in even more if I catch you two in here again,"

"Oh, don't worry, professor. We wouldn't ever want to have detention with you again." Kelsi said coldly and stood up to leave. She nodded at Libby and made her way out of the classroom. Once the door was closed behind them, Kelsi burst into RAAAAAGE.
"Oh my god- who does she think she is?!"

Libby grabbed her bag, and pulled her cloak sleeves over her hands. She ran out of the classroom, saw Serenity, waved, and shot in the direction of the Great Hall without another word. She really hoped that there was still dinner out.

Kelsi wasn't hungry.
"That witch! How horrible-" Kelsi was shaking so madly, and angry tears were filling her eyes up. She eyed Serenity and grabbed her arm. Kelsi began tugging really hard, and digging her nails into her friend's arm. Once they were out of earshot of the classroom, Kelsi blew up.

After Libby and Kelsi left, guess who walked in?

Mathew.

"Hi Professor! I'm here for detention!"
"Ah, hello. Why don't you take a seat right over here..."
