Defense Against the Dark Arts

"Hem hem! :3 Alright, open your textbooks to page one hundred and fifty five," she had said the numbers extra slow to make it sound even more boring.
"We'll be continuing our reading on how to rebound a stunning spell." she said and waddled to her desk. She placed her hands together and smiled her frog smile sweetly, in a I-dare-you-to-not-do-it way.

Amanda raised her hand, getting very sick of this lady.

"Erugh!!" this time, Rachel didn't bother to quiet herself. She just pulled out her book right away, and turned to the right page, and began staring at it with a scowl on her face the whole time.

"yeeeeeeessss?" She said to Amanda.


Kelsi was already reading. With her mouth closed. And she looked pissed off.


[[going out for dinner somebody take over.]]

"Ma'am, with all do respects and no offense towards your way of teaching, wouldn't it do us well to learn how to defend ourselves? Like, learning the spells then using them?"

"Miss Potter, your classmate Hermione Granger has already inquired about this. And, I shall give you the same answer I gave you. There is nothing that can hurt you in this classroom! So, there is no point in... dangering yourself, or having the trouble of learning them!"

"Oh Ma'am, please don't get upset! I'm just saying if, the tiny chance, we get in a fight with someone who wants to harm us?"

Kelsi pressed her fingers against her forehead.
"Don't pull what Serenity did, Amanda. . ." she groaned under her breath.

"I'm sorry Miss Potter, but nothing, and I mean NOTHING can hurt you in this classroom, or this school!"

"Of course, everybody knows that. Hogwarts is the safest place in the world." Kelsi muttered under her breath.
"... Worthless toad."

Professor Umbridge smiled at her class.
"No more mayhem, keep reading or I might have to start handing out detention!"

Rachel just shot her a rather nasty glare, and went back to staring at the textbook.

Kelsi turned the page, even though she hadn't finished reading.

[[I just remembered, when Harry kissed Ginny he puckered up his lips way too much and it looked so funny.]]

Olivia was picking at her nails with the pointy bit at the end of her quill. It was working pretty well; at least until she could get to the dorm and get the nail file.

[Yeah, me and a girl at the pool were making fun of that and pulled our bottom lips out XD]

Libby sneaked in, and silently sat next to Kelsi, looking at the page, and flipped to it. She hoped Umbridge hadn't noticed her.

Rachel eyes slowly began to flicker shut...

Kelsi eyed Libby for a quick moment then said nothing, she kept reading.

Amanda bit the bottom of her lip to keep from saying anything, with a horrible thought about the toad, Amanda read. .-.

Laura came barreling in, her cheeks blood red. "Proffesor- Happy Holidays- someone in my dorm is contacting somebody through non-owl ways! It may be plotting to get into the school!"

Umbridge looked up from her investion of tons of letters.
"Yes. Wonderful. I would give you thirty points, but she's in your house. hem-hem! :3 I want to see."

"Of course ma'am! Follow me!"

She followed by pulling her self up from her seat with a few huffs, and pushed her chair to the wall, breathed in so she could get past it, and waddled out from there, and danced over after Laura.

Amanda walked in, having no time to change her jeans, wore black jeans with wet knees. "Ma'am? I'm here for detention?"

"Ah, hello," said Professor Umbridge, flashing her a quick, cruel smile at the site of Amanda. "Why don't you take a seat, right here, dear,"

Amanda sit so, smiling at the witch - -well, horrible woman with a sickeningly sweet smile that said, 'I dare you to make me write lines. I DARE you.'

Professor Umbridge smiled back, flashing her an even more menacing smile. "Well, alright. Today, we're going to write lines for your detention. And don't worry, I've already supplied you with things you need," she said, pointing to the black quill pen and the piece of parchment beside it.
