Defense Against the Dark Arts

Rachel wandered in, and took a place by the window.

Amanda sighed.

Robin made her way in swiftly and settled next to Rachel without bother. She had her hair in it's natural shade (She had begun to do this in her Fourth Year) and it was knotted up in a bun with a dark blue ribbon falling to her shoulders. She opened her bag and neatly placed her book on her desk.

"Oh, hi. How are you?" said Rachel quietly. As she pulled out all her school supplies from her bag.

Amanda noticed Robin and was surprised. Sitting next to Rachel? That's good they're friends once more..

"Good, you?" Robin said lightly and opened her textbook.

"I'm fine,"

She smiled widely.

Rachel sighed and said. "How are your grades and studying and stuff coming?"

Amanda scribbled something on a paper and flicked it into Rachel's bag.


Not to interupt, but wanna study tonight after dinner?

". . . Oh, well. . ."

"What?" she asked, as she wrote the response to Amanda's note, which was a yes.

Amanda flicked back,

My common room? I can get a bunch of books.

Rachel read it, and nodded at her.

Amanda nodded back and began to think of what books to get.

"They're pretty good, actually. . . Erm, you?"

(Should we have class?)

(Eh, in a minute.)

Professor Umbridge walked into the classroom. "Hem hem!" And the class quieted down. She took a seat at her desk, and smiled her sickening sweet smile. "Good morning, class!"

Amanda mumbled Morning which ended up sounded like, "Mring."

"Oh, class," Robin said.

Olivia was looking at her nails, wondering how long it would take to get the dirt from Herbology out. Again.

Amanda glared at the window, wishing to be out there.

"Yes," said Rachel, not even bothering to respond to Professor Umbridge's greeting.
